Fundraising News
Can you believe that the 2022 school year is almost done?!
Term 4 is always a busy one for our students, staff and families, and this term has been no exception. We had both the Quiz Night and our Wine Drive take place this term, along with numerous school and end of year activities – so we thank you for your support of school fundraising during this busy time of year!
As always, the Quiz Night was a great success, and we would like to thank everyone who attended, and to those who supported our Online Auction from home.
We raised over $11,000 that will go towards improving our school facilities - an incredible outcome! Nights like these do not go ahead without considerable forward planning and support from school families and our community.
We would also like to specifically acknowledge and thank our school community parents, families and local businesses, for their generous donations to our Quiz Night and Online Auction. We couldn’t do it without you!
Our second Wine Drive for the year was also a great success, raising $1600.00.
We are so pleased to announce that we have raised over $20,000.00. This is an amazing achievement, and we would like to thank you all for your generosity and continued support of the fundraising events that took place at WPPS throughout 2022.
This year, funds have been put towards classroom and literacy resources, new sports equipment, a Wireless Access Point for Yard C, and the Year 6 graduation ceremony. In addition, over the past few years, fundraising have contributed to Nature Play and Yard C upgrades, plus building renovations in Marlborough including painting, wall removal and new carpeting. It is wonderful to see these projects coming along and the students and staff being able to enjoy them.
So again, THANK YOU!
We would love to see some new faces on the Fundraising Committee next year – if you would like to get involved, and have lots of fun whilst doing so, we would love to hear from you! Joining does not have to be a big commitment – whatever time you can spare is appreciated.
And last, but not least, we would like to thank Cindy Healey and Danielle Weyland, who have both been a part of the Fundraising Committee for many years! We are sad to be saying goodbye to both of these lovely treasures, as they move on from WPPS – their time, efforts and generous contributions cannot be overstated, and have been greatly appreciated. Their enthusiasm, energy and sense of humour will be missed for sure, as we’ve certainly had lots of laughs and fun times! Thank you Cindy and Dan 😊
Take care over the school break everyone, and we look forward to seeing you all next year!

Remembrance Day Service - 10 November
On Thursday, 10 November, J3 presented a moving memorial service for Remembrance Day. Our guest speaker was Lieutenant Thomas James from the 1st Armoured Regiment. He spoke about what Remembrance Day meant to him and his experiences in the Army. It was an interesting and inspiring speech. The local member for Elder, Ms Nadia Clancy, also spoke at the service.
The class read out the poem Fighting Hard written by Henry Lawson.
Musician Michael Bampton from the 10/27th Army band played the Last Post and the Revel.
The students from J3 should be very proud of their efforts. They stepped outside their comfort zones and encouraged each other to present a wonderful service. Students demonstrated and put into action the school Values of ARROW which are Accountability, Respect, Resilience, Opportunity and Wellbeing.
This year J3 sold 500 poppies raising money for the R.S.L. Thank you to all those who bought or donated to the R.S.L.
